What Does God Say About Witchcraft? . . .

Jesus is coming back soon. Satan knows this, he knows his time is short. I believe we are seeing the end time fury promised in Rev 12:12

"...woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short." NIV

All the perversion, witchcraft, sexual bombardment, abortions, all the wars, violence and terrorism are all part of this end time fury. September 11th was a lot more than a wake up call. I believe it was the beginning of sorrows, and the beginning of the end. Sadly, churches filled up for only about two months, but then everything went back to normal. Just as in the days of Noah and the days of lot! People are going about doing what they normally do, and have always done. Buying and selling, marrying and building, apparently oblivious to Satan and his plan for their lives.
I believe the young wizard Harry Potter is leading the bandwagon of the satanic parade. Harry Potter is an absolute phenomenon. Geo. Barna recently reported; "Despite sales that top 5 million units, The Prayer of Jabez was known to only 13% of American adults; and despite sales exceeding 20 million units, the Left Behind books were known to only 24%. In contrast, the Harry Potter books were known to 69% of Americans - and that was before the movie release and all then related hype."1
Harry potter is de-sensitizing our nation, and especially our children to witchcraft. He's making witchcraft not only look acceptable but also appealing. The author J.K. Rowling said this, "I don't want to give anything away, but I can tell you that the books are getting darker…. Harry has quite a bit to deal with as he gets older." With each new book, Harry becomes a year older. And his wizardry becomes more advanced. A human sacrifice is reported to take place in the 7th and last book of the series.2 The Harry Potter books present astrology, numerology, mediums, spiritists, crystal gazing, potions, spells and conjurations and kids are enthralled with it. The movie depicts Harry's world, as a world in which magical people predict the future, change shapes and communicate with ghosts (the Dead.)
I want you to know, in fact I want to make it crystal clear that any involvement with the occult is totally contrary to Gods word and opens a big door for the devil to torment you! Ouija boards, 8-balls, séances, bloody Mary, and levitation are not just harmless fun at slumber parties. They are invitations to demonic activity in your life. In reality levitation is the conjuring up of a demon, the demon then picks up an object and carries it around the room. You can not see the demon, only the object moving about the room and so think this person has some great power. Palm readers, psychics and tarot cards are not harmless or innocent fun either. I believe when we involve ourselves with these sins, we open ourselves up to the spirit realm and loose demonic spirits to operate in our lives. When you consult a medium (a psychic or fortune teller) you blatantly violate the scriptures and you open yourself up to familiar spirits. Lets look at Gods clear instruction to the children of Israel in
Deut 18:9-14
"When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD…

The Lord had also given stern warnings against consulting mediums in
Lev 19:31
'Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Lev 20:6
'And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.

In Lev 20:27
'A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them.' "

Lets look at King Saul's fate, as recorded in 1 Chronicles 10:13-14:

Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.

Our society has become consumed with a hunger for the supernatural. Unfortunately people are looking for it in all the wrong places. Fortune tellers, psychics and tarot card readers are using television, the internet and the telephone to fill that niche. As a result soothsaying is a multibillion dollar industry in America.3
My wife and I take the Spirit realm so seriously. We will not even read a fortune cookie or a horoscope. Now that may sound fanatical, and I've often been called a fanatic. However, when you see the things we've seen in deliverance sessions you get a reality to the spirit realm, which will cause you to live differently. You see we are dealing with an enemy who is sophisticated and experienced. He and his demons have been tormenting humans for thousands of years, and they're very good at it.
Some other areas where Satan is moving are New Age, Freemasonry, and Wicca. We looked at Freemasonry in depth in the February 2002 issue. So let's look at these other two areas.
NEW AGE, is nothing more than an old lie in a new wrapper. It's really a mixture of plain old witchcraft and Goddess worship with Hinduism and Buddhism. King Solomon was right when he wrote in Ecclesiastes "There is nothing new under the sun." There is so much junk out there right now!!! That's because" the devil is as a roaring lion, roaming to and fro seeking whom he may devour." Along with New Age, are all the many cults and false religions. You have Hare Krisna, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormonism, the Moonies, Christian Scientists, the Way, Unitarians, and the Other Church of God just to name a few. From there the list goes on and on!
WICCA, like Freemasonry claims its origins to be ancient and mystical. They claim to be a religion based on the broad themes of pre-Christian European paganism, a nature and fertility religion. Wicca appears to the public to be a nature cult focusing on the hidden secrets of nature and its cycles. Using charms, herbs, chants, circles and candles to commune with nature and ones self. Wicca is even recognized by the United States Government as a religion and the military has even commissioned Wiccan priests as Chaplin's in the armed services.
Regardless of their appearance or their government status, underneath their sterile exterior is at best a sanitized version of Satan worship.4 Wicca is to witchcraft, as marijuana is to the drug culture. It's the entry level to Satanism and the occult. Wiccans consider themselves to be "white" witches or for lack of a better term "Good" witches. The problem with that is God hates all witchcraft. White or black witchcraft is just like white and black lies. They are all lies, and big or small white or black you'll go to hell for both. We see in Deut 18:10-12 God makes no distinction between "white" witchcraft and Satanism, in fact he lumps them together as abominations.
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, NIV

God so hates witchcraft that the children of Israel were instructed in Ex 22:18 to kill any witches found among them. Paul also lists witchcraft as an act of the sinful nature in Gal 5:19-21
The entire chapter of Lev. 18 consists of warnings to Israel, not to adopt the ways of the Canaanites who's land they were about to enter or to maintain the ways of the Egyptians who's land they had just left. Both had religions that were steeped in witchcraft. The Canaanite's actively practiced a fertility religion (Wicca perhaps.) Their fertility religion included all forms of sexual misconduct and perversion including, every variation of incest, homosexuality, bestiality and adultery as well as child sacrifice. These Abominations were the very reasons that God was driving the inhabitants from their land. One thing I will agree with, all witchcraft as well as, Satanism and demon worship certainly are ancient religions.
The bible says in Rev 12:9

The great dragon was hurled down-that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. NIV

Modern Witchcraft or Wicca is credited to an Englishman named Gerald Gardner, who emerged after the British repealed its Laws against witchcraft. Gardner wrote several books on the subject, supposedly based on secrets he received from an ancient cult he was, or had been associated with. It is believed he then joined forces with another witch named Doreen Valiant, who helped him develop the tradition known as Gardnerian witchcraft. It is a combination of his own coven's traditions as well as Rosicrucianism, mythology, Freemasonry and other sources. Gardnerian witchcraft was introduced to the United States in the 1960's. The counter culture of the 60's was ripe for this type of attack against our society and our Christian values. Gerald Gardner's Wicca, as well as numerous other traditions spread like wild fire through out this nation.
Most traditions have a strong emphasis on goddess worship (the Queen of Heaven) mentioned in Jeremiah chapters 7 and 44.
Witches also perform rituals to mark natural transitions, such the lunar phases, equinoxes, solstices, and traditional agrarian festivals.
There are several other major traditions active in this nation; Alexandrian, Druidic, Welsh Traditionalist, Georgian, Dianic, and the church of Wicca and there are estimated thousands of other small, self styled cults who's rites and rituals will vary to some degree based on the cult leaders particular brand of lust and perversion.
Most covens have ceremonies, rites and rituals that include nudity, orgies and other forms of sexual misconduct and perversion. Scourging or whipping, which is nothing more than Sado- Masochism and Drug use are also common parts of most rituals. Witchcraft (Wicca) is about power and control of others to gain fulfillment of ones own desires, whether it be sex, drugs or just the power to dominate over others. It's gaining control of others to have your own way and God hates it. In dealing with any witchcraft including Wicca the subject of sacrifice and blood sacrifice comes up. Though Wiccans claim not to be involved with any type of animal or human sacrifice. Witchcraft has always been associated with the letting of blood. History clearly records Druid and Celtic witchcraft that included both animal and human sacrifices. The Bible also associates human sacrifice, especially child sacrifice with seemingly less harmful activities of witchcraft, such as fortune telling, and astrology.

Look at Gods rebuke of Manasseh.
2 Chron 33:1-6: Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, following the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had demolished; he also erected altars to the Baals and made Asherah poles. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them. He built altars in the temple of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, "My Name will remain in Jerusalem forever." In both courts of the temple of the LORD, he built altars to all the starry hosts. He sacrificed his sons in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger.

Lastly, lets look at God's Strong warning to those who practice witchcraft, Sorcery and astrology.
Isaiah 47:9-14…in spite of your many sorceries and all your potent spells.

You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, 'No one sees me. Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, 'I am, and there is none besides me.' Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you. "Keep on, then, with your magic spells and with your many sorceries All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. NIV

There are indeed two revivals in the land today. We the bride of Christ, the children of God, the church of Jesus Christ have to make a decision. We have to decide to either go the way of the world, or to come out from among them and be separate.

Witchcraft Prayers of Release

Heavenly Father, I love you and I will serve you and you alone. Satan, I prophesy to you, your time is done in my life; your assignment is broken.

I repent and renounce all contact with witchcraft and the occult, willingly or in ignorance, known or unknown.

I repent and renounce of all contact with witchcraft and the occult by my ancestors to the 3rd, 4th, 10th generation and beyond.

I repent and renounce and break all power, I have received from any and all involvement with witchcraft and occult. I break all agreements, all pacts, all contracts and all deals with satan!

In Jesus mighty name and by the power of his blood, I repent and renounce all involvement with ouija boards, eight ball, séances, astrology, horoscopes, fortune telling, ESP. I repent of and renounce palm readers, tarot cards, all psychic readings, the 3rd eye, levitation, communication with the dead, all forms of deception, control and manipulation and rebellion.

I repent and renounce all black magic, white magic, yoga, meditations, crystals, runes, fetishes and automatic handwriting.

I break all chants, spells, vows, covenants and incantations, including the effects of all freemasonry.

I renounce all sacrifices, blood sacrifices, animal or human, all blood oaths and blood vows.

I repent and renounce: out of body experiences, astral projection, spirit guides, animal guides, channeling, imaging, tea leaves, pendulum, Indian rites, rituals, all satanic rites, rituals and ceremonies, all witch doctors sorcery, Santeria, divination, wizardry, voodoo and reincarnation and all Wicca and new age.

I break every hex, vex, voodoo, all witchcraft. I break every incantation, every blood oath, blood vow and blood covenant. I break the effects of every curse, spoken or unspoken, on my mother’s side and father’s side back to the 3rd, 4th, even 10th generation and beyond. I break the effects of all doctrines of demons, all witchcraft and the occult in Jesus name.
